She is the sixth child out of a total of seven.

Her family is struggling to make ends meet due to their extreme poverty and the fact that her father is absent, an alcoholic, and suffers from a severe mental illness. He is unable to provide for his family.

They sleep on the floor of their mud hut home. When she first started school Rehema was plagued by worms, fleas and jiggers. The local team at the school got her treatments, which have been successful and Rehema is now doing very well academically and is having no trouble making new friends.

Due to the fact her family is so poor they can hardly afford to eat even one meal each day, so she really benefits from the two hot meals that are provided at school.

The family have no toilet in the house or running water, so this presents a number of dangers from the possibility of being kidnapped, snakes, harassment and having to walk for miles to get water.

Becoming Rehema’s school sponsor will ensure her education continues, she’ll receive two hot meals a day and also a uniform, shoes, bag and resources.
