Welcome to the Roof of Africa. We are a small charity with a bit heart and an even bigger vision. We work alongside some of the poorest children and families in Tanzania, creating opportunities through education, community support and long-term development.
We believe every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and build a brighter future, regardless of their circumstances. By working closely with local communities, we help create sustainable change that empowers families for generations to come.
We are proud that our first primary school is nearing completion, with almost 300 children already registered to begin their education. A small charity with big ambition
Our School
In June 2016, we opened The Roof of Africa school in Sonu, a small village in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. The school currently has 5 classes completed and uses two administration blocks for primary six and 7 and the school now teaches 277 children from nursery level to standard 7.
