Dorcas
Dorcas
My name is Dorcas. I am 11 years old and in primary six. I come from a background of abject poverty, but I have always tried my best to excel in my studies. A few years back, I sat for my primary four exams and achieved great results, as you can see here. I scored a B average in the national exams:
Kiswahili: A
English: B
Social Studies: B
Maths: B
Science and Technology: C
Civics and Ethics: B
Now, I need your help to continue my education and fulfil my dream of attending university one day. The costs are challenging for my family, and I am reaching out for support.
I require £25 a month to cover my educational needs, which totals £300 annually. Ultimately, to complete my primary education, I will need £600. Additionally, my family is in urgent need of financial support. We require £90 for basic family needs, £50 for cash food to ensure we do not go hungry, and £50 for immediate necessities.
Providing education to girls like me in Sub-Saharan Africa is not just about academic success; it is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and addressing significant social issues. Educated girls delay marriage and childbirth, understand their rights, and become advocates for their health and well-being. Education gives us the power to confront harmful practices and strive for economic independence and informed choices about our lives.
By supporting my education through the Roof of Africa, you are impacting my life and altering my community's future. Your contribution is vital in fostering equality and building a world free from injustice. With your support, I can continue my studies, break the cycle of poverty, and pave the way for a brighter future. Thank you for considering sponsoring my education.
