Anitha is in primary three. She was born into a family so poor they struggle to provide even one square meal a day for their children. This means Anitha was in a poor health condition when she joined us and it had a profound effect on her ability to learn. Recently we have been encouraged by the improvement seen in her academic performance and expect it to continue to improve.

In order to support his family, her father sells banana beer but he’s an alcoholic so he leaves his jobless wife to make ends by doing mental tasks.

Anitha lives in an unfinished house and is in danger and worse health because there is no restroom, clean water, bed, or mosquito nets.
